Pollinator garden

This space was an outdoor play area for kindergarten students. Our client wanted to plant an array of flowering plants to attract butterflies and bees, to incorporate nature based learning during the sessions. We proposed using natural materials to form the skeleton of the garden space; such as using logs as borders for the beds and local woodchips as a pathway material. Keyhole beds were formed at each corner of the garden, allowing all planting space to be accessible from the footpaths without stepping into the beds. A variety of hardy flowering plants were planted. Most of the flowers were edible too.
