“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings” - Masanobu Fukuoka.

What we do…

SEED FOLKS primarily work on food gardens in Singapore, guided by the principles of natural farming, regenerative agriculture & permaculture. The overarching practice is to eliminate unnecessary work and to instead observe natural processes and mimic them in our gardens. This allows plants to grow naturally and produce healthy food. It would also facilitate ecosystem services such as the building of topsoil, carbon sequestration and the creation of habitats for wildlife. Essentially, to advocate for a simpler life that is more attuned with nature.

Our approach…

We believe food which are grown naturally in healthy soil, imparts not just nutrients but also a vitality when we consume them. We can integrate an array of soil based practices in the food gardens we work on, dependent on the context of the space and the requirements of the client. This usually will include:
- A diverse planting scheme (Trees, flowers, herbs etc.)
- Heirloom vegetables
- Cultivation of the soil food web
- Aerobic composting
- Vermicomposting
- Mulching
- No-dig beds
- Use of natural materials
- Designing for efficiency (equipment, layout, workflow etc.)
